About

“From the moment I fell down that rabbit hole I’ve been told what I must do and who I must be. I’ve been shrunk, stretched, scratched, and stuffed into a teapot. I’ve been accused of being Alice and of not being Alice, but this is MY dream. I’ll decide where it will go from here.”

With this site I’ve dedicated myself to exploration and experimentation in regards to health issues (big and small), home life and hedonistic adventures. But no need to accuse me of being Alice. The title, Alice and the Rabbit Hole, is meant to invoke the spirit of searching and is a celebration of what we make out of life’s surprises. Sometimes we try everything, hoping to get back to a homeostatic state, only to find we’ve arrived at a new place entirely.

This is my blog and my name is Jewel Meadows. (Ok, that’s not my real name but it was my grandmother’s.) I honor both of my grandmothers here: one a writer and teacher, the other a hardworking homemaker who never stopped creating beautiful things.

As for me, I like to think of myself as a Jill of All Trades, aspiring to be a Renaissance Woman on the public sphere. For now, I’m opening up a window into my more personal challenges – from the spectacular to the mundane to the truly bizarre – in hopes that you’ll find something informative, inspiring or at least entertaining in the mix.

For an index of topics, click on the Rabbit Hole link. Or just follow the Let’s Go posts in all their splendor and randomness. I can only wonder what happens next. In the words of Alice, this is getting “curiouser and curiouser!”

I find this blog very entertaining.

Who knew the locals hate “San Fran.”

I am glad to be enjoying the gifts of your creativity.
